Community Water Safety

Keeping Our Community Safe—One Drop at a Time
Water is a source of fun, fitness, and relaxation—but it also comes with risks. At Great Lakes Life Saving Society, we’re committed to promoting water safety across our community through education, resources, and action.
Whether you’re at the pool, the lake, or in your own backyard, water safety saves lives. Let’s work together to create a culture of awareness and prevention.

What We Offer
🏊♂️ Water Safety Education
We provide hands-on workshops and free digital resources to help families and individuals of all ages stay safe near water.
📚 School & Youth Programs
Partnering with local schools, we teach children the fundamentals of water safety and swimming through fun, interactive lessons.
🚨 CPR & Emergency Training
Learn life-saving skills like CPR, rescue techniques, and how to respond in water-related emergencies.
🌊 Community Events
Join us for seasonal events such as Life Jacket Giveaways, Water Safety Days, and Swim-A-Thons that raise awareness and build skills.

Tips for Staying Safe
Never swim alone. Always swim with a buddy, even in a public pool or supervised area.
Supervise children closely. Stay within arm’s reach when young kids are in or near water.
Wear a life jacket. Especially in open water, life jackets save lives—every time.
Learn to swim. Everyone in the family should take swim lessons if they haven’t already.
Know the environment. Be aware of water depth, currents, and hazards like drop-offs or slippery edges.
Get Involved
